Rebranding
At the Flower Pots Inn and Brewery, tradition is important. We are a traditional Inn, and and award-winning cask ales and beers have been brewed in our traditional looking on-site brewery since 1993. Our established heritage is something we did not want to disrupt, but after so many years in business, we felt it was time to update our look with a new look and feel.
Working with our web and marketing designers, we conducted our research and saw how other hospitality businesses have rebranded themselves.
Most of them detailed quite drastic changes, which we felt would not work for us. As we said, we have an established presence and a radical rebrand would not fit well with our ethos and reputation.
As such, we realised our local Inn and Brewery rebranding had to be ‘evolution, rather than revolution’. At the same time, it needed to reflect our brand identity as an Inn that specialises in beer; that serves cask ales brewed using traditional methods.
Our rebranding process
Our old logo had been well-loved over the years, but the intricate design was not easy to read when scaled down for various print purposes.
We were keen to include the eponymous ‘flower pot’ in our branding to retain brand recognition as well as promote our connection with nature and our picturesque surroundings. We decided to go with imagery that reflected our ideologies and what The Flower Pots Inn and Brewery represented to the community of Cheriton; imagery that captured our traditional ethos in a modern way.
As such, we decided to use a contemporary font combined with hand-drawn elements. In the end, we felt that the illustration-style flower pot with a robin in front of it did a fantastic job of capturing our brand identity and heritage.
This new branding will now be used across all our marketing efforts, including social media, pump clips and advertisements. In fact, you can see it on our van livery as well. Combined with our pub refurbishment, we think it is a great way to take The Flower Pots Inn and Brewery into the future.
We would love to hear what you think about the new branding. Why not drop in for a meal and a drink to see how it looks with our renovated premises?
